Brief background:

            "Nasaan Ka Irog" is a Kundiman song that was composed by Nicanor Abelardo. The song talk about love and courtship. This song is inspired by the real life story of Nicanor Abelardo's childhood friend, Dr. Francisco Tecson (to whom this song is dedicated)."It expresses frustration, helplessness, and lingering sadness with profuse harmony and characteristic markings such as pesante and doloroso." Abelardo was also inspired by the dreams and aspirations evoked by the kundiman that he transposed in the song the cry of a broken love, which eventually made the song a theme for empty dreams and forsaken loves.

About the Song:

            The song Nasaan Ka Irog was actually about a love story of a rich man who is a heir to a rich family, and an impoverished young lady. Their love was pure and sincere, but then it was a denied love because of their different status in life. They are like two lone souls containing an empty hearts fated to see each other to fill up the empty spaces, but then the more they build that love the more it is forbidden. This left them in lost, chaos, and distress.

Reflection:

            The song "Nasaan ka irog" mirrors the bitter reality on involving in a completely different world. Like the love made between a rich and a poor person. People are strange creatures, and tend to fall in love in mysterious ways. Love knows no bounds. When love is true and pure, then it is worth fighting for. The right for a wanted love shouldn't have to be defy by the fact of being rich or poor. Remember, the worst feelings are regrets, regrets on  the things you should have done when you had the chance.
